Georgia May Travers-Cook

Georgia-May Travers Cook (b.1995) is an oil painter who lives and works in London. Her
paintings are a combination of realist figuration, paired with a distinctive uncanny, and
at times surreal aesthetic.

Her paintings are staged as open-ended stories, with suggestive motifs poised as narrative stimuli. However the paintings remain objectively unfixed as the viewers are required to draw their own narrative ending. Her paintings draw strongly from literature and fiction, as well as her own writing, which she develops as creative short stories and explorative essays. She attended Goldsmiths University where she studied Fine Art and Art History. Her art history education has greatly inspired her work and historical motifs litter her paintings. She has participated in multiple group shows in the UK and Italy, and has recently completed the Xenia residency program in Hampshire, UK.
