Ellie Cotton (b. 1996 Salisbury, United Kingdom) lives and works in London. Throughout Cotton’s paintings, she weaves characters of her own making into the lives of well known figures within art history. Often starting with a proliferation of drawings and studies, her work usually culminates in large scale oil paintings, which have one foot in this world and the other firmly in her own imagination.
In 2019, Ellie received her BA in Fine Art from Falmouth University and later participated in the Turps Off-Site Painting Programme in 2020-2021. Recent solo shows include, ‘Gallery Paintings’ at Luca’s Gallery in 2023.
