Born in Melbourne and based in London, Bejer studied fine art and stage design before embarking on a career as a theatre designer. His extensive experience in the theatre bears on his artistic practice which ranges from painting to sculpture, printmaking to installation. In 2022, he graduated with a MFA from the City & Guilds School of Art, London, where he received the prestigious Artists’ Collecting Society Studio Prize as well as the Roger De Gray Prize for Drawing. From 2022 to 2023 he held the Decorative Surfaces Fellowship of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers where he is now an Honorary Freeman. His work has since been show in group and solo exhibitions in Melbourne (2022) Hong Kong (2023) and Taipei (2024), and has been previously exhibited in group shows in the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. He is currently resident artist with the Sunderland Collection’s Artist’s Programme where he is developing a body of work related to the Collection’s focus on historical maps and atlases. Paradise Glitch is the first solo presentation of Bejer’s work in London.
